Haircomb user guide

Welcome to Haircomb Wallet

Haircomb Wallet is a site that allows you to generate and manage haircomb tokens, a cryptocurrency based on Bitcoin. This manual will guide you through all the features and functionalities of the site.

Getting Started

To get started, navigate to the Haircomb Wallet site. Create a new wallet by clicking the "Wallet" section on the homepage. Enter a brain password (optional) and click "Create Wallet". Save your wallet seed phrase in a safe place (if not using a brain password). Exporting your wallet will allow you to restore your wallet if you lose access to it. You will also need to export your transaction history alongside the seed, but we'll get to that later.

Generating Coins

To generate new haircomb coins, navigate to the Wallet page. Click the "Generate Key" button to generate a new key. Find the "Bitcoin Key Claiming burn address" below the key to claim a haircomb coin. Pay 330 sats to the specified address to claim the haircomb coin. The coin will appear in the Claims section of the Coins page in case you win, and in your wallet. Make sure to export your wallet (if not relying on brain password) before claiming to not lose access to your coins.

Receiving Coins

To receive haircomb coins from another user, provide them with your wallet address or a stealth address. Ask the user to send haircomb coins to your address and to provide you with a full history. Check the "Allow paste import wallet" checkbox and paste the transaction history into the site. Click the "Scan Mempool" button on the Export page to revalidate imported transactions based on the current consensus. Make sure that all coins are loaded on the Claims section of the Coins page. Once the transaction is confirmed, the haircomb coins will appear in the Balances section of the Coins page and in your wallet.

Paying Coins

To pay haircomb coins, navigate to the Wallet page. Click on the "Set as Change" button for the key that will be used for change. Click on the "Pay" button under a different key (the key which you want to spend) to initiate a transaction. This key must contain the coins. On the Pay page, enter the destination addresses and amounts for the payment in the Payment Destinations section. Review the payment information in the Payment Info section and enter your brain password (optional). Click the "Pay" button in the Payment Info section to download the updated wallet with the new transaction. Confirm the 21 commitments in the Payment Destinations section by paying 330 sats to each commitment. Once the commitments are confirmed (after 6 blocks have been added to the BTC chain), the haircomb tokens will be sent to the specified payment destinations.

To create a transaction history that you need to give to a recipient, use the Export section. The Export for Recipient form allows you to enter the Recipient address, and when you click Export, the history intended to be given to the specific user will be generated and downloaded.

Exporting and Importing

To export your wallet, navigate to the Export page. Enter a file name and click the "Export" button to download your wallet in Wallet Import Format. To import a wallet, check the "Allow paste import wallet" checkbox to enable pasting. Paste your wallet file or transaction history into the site. The "Allow paste import wallet" checkbox will uncheck automatically. Click the "Scan Mempool" button on the Export page to revalidate imported transactions based on the current consensus.

Loading Claims

To load claims information, navigate to the Coins page. Click the "Load Claims" button below the Claims section to load the claims information from the site backend.

Changing Language

Make sure your wallet is exported before changing the language. Any unsaved changes will be lost. To change the language of the site, click the language dropdown in the top right corner of the page. Select the desired language from the dropdown menu.
